Every student will be provided with at least one doe in heat.
All you need to bring is your own AI kit, like these available at BIO-Genics’ website, or equivalent. We supply everything else.
Classroom topics include:
• effects of stress and environment on AI success
• proper management of AI candidates and semen donors
• overview of semen abnormalities and effects on viability
• basic instruction on the doe's hormonal processes
• hormonal effects causing the condition of rut in the buck
• male and female anatomy and how fertilization occurs
• the selection of appropriate AI candidates
• effective record keeping
• proper storage and thawing techniques of frozen semen
• available AI equipment, its proper care and suggested use |

• operation and practical applications of AI tools and equipment
• liquid nitrogen tanks and handling of frozen semen
• thawing semen and loading AI gun
• how to determine the correct time to inseminate
• how to inseminate the doe |
